Research-only policy

Why products are labeled “Not for human consumption.”

Fully explaining this topic would take multiple pages. Therefore, we have condensed the primary elements below so researchers and customers can quickly understand the key reasons.

Researchers label research peptides as “not for human consumption” for several important reasons. Specifically, multiple factors involving the FDA and the pharmaceutical industry contribute to this policy. Furthermore, most of the general public remains unaware of these factors.
As a result, we have condensed the explanation to its core elements.

1

F.D.A. approval costs

The biggest factor is the cost of pursuing FDA approval. In fact, the process can cost millions of dollars. Consequently, this expense creates a prohibitive barrier for smaller organizations that simply cannot afford it.

2

Scale of required trials

Mandatory preclinical (animal) and clinical (human) trials require large budgets. In addition to the approval pathway costs, these trials demand significant resources. Large firms can usually afford these expenses; however, smaller organizations often struggle to meet them.

3

Patent limitations

Patents play a critical role in this issue. Once a compound’s patent expires, other manufacturers can produce it freely. Therefore, large pharmaceutical companies lose their financial incentive to fund the costly approval process for that compound.

4

“Off-label” competition

Doctors actively prescribe approved drugs “off-label,” which broadens competition with major pharmaceutical companies. As a result, even when effective peptide counterparts exist, companies face strong market challenges that reduce their motivation to pursue formal approval.

Important clarification: This is not to say that companies or partners are distributing unevaluated drugs to the public—there are many studies that explore safety and efficacy, just not always at the scale required for certain regulatory pathways.

We hold the safety of our customers in the highest regard, and send all batches to a third party lab to verify both their sterility and content prior to distribution.
