FOXO4-DRI is a D-retro-inverso peptide designed to disrupt the interaction between the FOXO4 transcription factor and p53 in senescent cells. Its design represents an elegant application of peptide engineering: by reversing the amino-acid sequence and substituting D-amino acids, researchers created a proteolytically stable mirror image that retains the binding interface of the original FOXO4-derived fragment.
